2018 Aon Maadi Cup

The 2018 Aon Maadi Cup (New Zealand Secondary School Championships) will be held at Lake Ruataniwha, Twizel from 19 - 24 March. Run by the NZSSRA and Rowing NZ, the Aon Maadi Cup is the national championships for school rowing. Being New Zealand's largest rowing regatta, it's the most prestigious event on the school rowing calendar. 120 schools have entered 2283 athletes with a total of 1436 crews over six days of racing. Finals on Friday and Saturday are expected to draw a crowd of over 10,000 spectators. On a day when the sport paid tribute to former Olympic champion and large-than-life rowing personality Dudley Storey, the crews did not disappoint on a thrilling final day of action at the 2017 Aon Maadi Cup on Lake Karapiro.

An action-packed day of racing also saw two of the premier trophies awarded, the Springbok Shield and the Dawn Cup for the under-18 coxed four.

It was a make or break day of semi-final racing at the 2017 Aon Maadi Cup at Lake Karapiro today.
