Media Guidelines

Accredited media are able to access the start wall at the discretion of the Chief Starter. Media need to keep a reasonable distance from athletes/boats and should not move once the 2 minute call has been made.

Media must not, film or take photos of people if they are in a place where they can expect privacy (such as a public changing area or toilet) and that person:

  • Is naked, in underclothes, showering, toileting etc
  • Is unaware of being filmed or photographed, or
  • Has not consented to be filmed or photographed.

Media should not take photos of people if:

  • They are in a place where they would expect reasonable privacy and publication would be highly offensive to an objective and reasonable person
  • It has potential to stop other people's use and enjoyment of the same place
  • You have no legitimate reason for taking the film or photos.

There is no on water access except for the official event photographer.

No drones or semi-permanent/permanent photography or filming fixtures are permitted throughout the entire venue with the exception of the official event videographer's drone.

Parking will be available for all accredited media

Accredited media will be able to access water and use WIFI in the media room (more details to be provided). All accredited media must collect a Media Pass from the media room. Accredited media must wear your accreditation pass at all times. Pink vests are provided to indicate your accredited status, and must also be worn whenever filming or photographing.

Failure to follow any of the above Media Guidelines will result in your accreditation being revoked.
